WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, U.S. Representative Melanie Stansbury (NM-01) held a virtual press conference on the introduction of her new bill, the Veteran Benefits Enhancement Act.  

This bill seeks to amend the Railroad Unemployment Insurance Act (RUIA) to clarify the treatment of military retirement pay in relation to unemployment and sickness benefits. 

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, U.S. Representative Melanie Stansbury (NM-01) introduced the Veteran Benefits Enhancement Act to expand benefits for veteran railroad workers. This legislation would amend the Railroad Unemployment Insurance Act (RUIA) to clarify the treatment of military retirement pay in relation to unemployment and sickness benefits.

ALBUQUERQUE — U.S. Representative Melanie Stansbury (NM-01) introduced the IHS Provider Expansion Act, which establishes an Office of Graduate Medical Education Programs within the Indian Health Service (IHS). This legislation would expand the existing IHS Residency Program, building from the Shiprock-University of New Mexico (SUNM) Family Medicine Residency which is the first in the nation.
