Rep. Melanie Stansbury Visits Gordon Bernell School to Advocate for Every Student’s Success
Albuquerque, N.M.—Today, Representative Melanie Stansbury (NM-01) visited the Gordon Bernell Charter School to engage with students and educators about the importance of providing support and resources to uplift every student, regardless of their circumstances.
“Everyone deserves a chance to thrive,” said Rep. Melanie Stansbury (NM-01). “We must invest in our schools and provide comprehensive support systems that empower students from all backgrounds. Education is not just a pathway to success—it is a fundamental right. Everyone who wants to learn deserves access to an education, no matter their age or circumstance in life. Education opens doors.”
She toured school facilities and participated in discussions with students and faculty. The Gordon Bernell Charter School serves New Mexicans including people who have experienced homelessness or are involved in the juvenile justice system.
During her visit, the Congresswoman addressed systemic barriers that many students face, including economic hardship and lack of access to adequate resources.
