WASHINGTON— Today, in the first hearing for the Impeachment Inquiry of President Joe Biden in the Committee on Oversight and Accountability, U.S. Representative Melanie Stansbury (D-N.M.-01) slammed House Republicans for engaging in the political bidding of former President Donald Trump. The hearing took place with less than 48 hours remaining until the government is set to run out of funding and shut down.

WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Representatives Melanie Stansbury (D-N.M.-01) and Juan Ciscomani (R-AZ-06) introduced the bipartisan Promoting Accessibility on Federal Lands Act. This legislation would be a historic first step to make public lands more accessible to those with disabilities. This bill directs the United States Forest Service to conduct a comprehensive assessment of accessibility options for trails, campsites, and facilities.

WASHINGTON--Today, U.S. Representative Melanie Stansbury (N.M.-01) released the following statement on the announcement by the Department of the Interior that it would use administrative authority to protect more than 4,000 acres near Placitas from mining in Sandoval County, New Mexico. The proposed administrative withdrawal would safeguard important Tribal lands, support ecological and wildlife connectivity, and boost local recreation opportunities. It would also prevent new mining claims and oil and gas development in the area for 50 years.
