STANSBURY VOTES 'NO' ON DHS FUNDING
WASHINGTON, DC —Congresswoman Melanie Stansbury (NM-01) released the following statement after voting “no” on funding the Department of Homeland Security as part of the latest funding package in the U.S. House of Representatives:
"Millions of Americans are calling for an end to the violence unleashed on our communities by the Department of Homeland Security in the wake of the murders of Alex Pretti and Renee Nicole Good. That is why I cannot, in good conscience, vote to provide more funding for an agency that is terrorizing families and children, violating constitutional rights, and complicit in killings and violence across this country. DHS cannot continue to operate with no rules, no transparency, and no accountability. It must end. We demand accountability."
