Representative Stansbury Sworn In to Serve New Mexicans for a Second Term
WASHINGTON—This morning, U.S. Representative Melanie Stansbury (N.M.-01) took her oath of office to serve New Mexico’s First Congressional District. She was sworn in following 15 rounds of votes for Speaker of the House, the fifth-longest Speaker election in U.S. history. Rep. Stansbury represents the newly re-drawn First Congressional District in central New Mexico in the 118thCongress.
“I am deeply honored to serve New Mexico’s First Congressional District and to take my oath of office tonight for the 118th Congress,” said Rep. Stansbury. “Since day one, our work on behalf of our District has been rooted in our communities and focused on rebuilding our economy, caring for our communities, and protecting our lands and waters.
