Rep. Stansbury Statement on Willow Project Decision

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.—Today, U.S. Representative Melanie Stansbury (N.M.-01), Ranking Member of the House Natural Resources Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations, released the following statement after the Biden administration announced its Record of Decision to move forward with the ConocoPhillips Willow oil and gas development project:
“As the future of our planet hangs in the balance, I join millions—including Indigenous leaders, scientists, and lawmakers—in opposing the Willow Project and urging the Biden administration to reconsider its approval of this project and its consequences for global climate change and the communities and ecosystems it will impact.”
