Rep. Stansbury Releases Statement on 9/11 Remembrance Day
WASHINGTON—U.S. Representative Melanie Stansbury (NM-01) released the following statement on 9/11 Remembrance Day:
"Today remains a sober day, full of remembrances and reflections of the 9,277 people who died on September 11, 2001 - especially Alfred Marchand from Alamogordo.
Alfred was working as a flight attendant on United Flight 175 when it was hijacked and intentionally flown into the South Tower of the World Trade Center.
My thoughts and prayers are with Alfred's loved ones, all grieving families across the country, and the survivors today.
The terror attacks of 9/11 and the weeks that followed galvanized Americans - changing the course of this nation. We must remember that our diversity is our strength, and we have a collective responsibility to honor our national memory as a sacred duty."
