Two Years of Inflation Reduction Act Funding in New Mexico

ALBUQUERQUE—Congresswoman Melanie Stansbury (NM-01) celebrates the positive, lasting impacts of the historic investments of the Biden Administration’s Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) on New Mexico on its two-year anniversary.

In total, the Biden Administration’s program has invested nearly $320 million in New Mexico.

"The Biden-Harris Administration's Inflation Reduction Act has positively transformed the future of clean energy innovation and grown the economy in New Mexico for generations to come," said Rep. Melanie Stansbury (NM-01). "I am grateful to President Biden and Vice President Harris for their work to invest in climate crisis mitigation projects, clean energy technologies, and rural infrastructure. When I voted to pass the Inflation Reduction Act in the House, I knew good things were on the way for New Mexico, and we are seeing those results every day."

President Biden signed the historic legislation on August 16, 2022. The law uses $370 billion through a combination of loans, grants, rebates, incentives, and other investments supporting President Biden’s plan to lower energy costs for Americans and small businesses while creating good-paying jobs in the growing clean energy economy and manufacturing sectors.

The IRA builds off the climate action and clean energy work through the Biden-Harris Administration’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law that was signed in 2021.
