More than $100M available for rent, utility assistance

August 17, 2021

Gregory Aldoph was standing next to his car at Expo New Mexico on Tuesday morning when he learned his application had been approved and his landlord would be receiving $2,640 to cover Aldoph’s rent for the next six months.

“Blessings to everybody. That’s good,” he said at the event at the state fairgrounds where people were applying for assistance from the Emergency Rental Assistance Program, or ERAP. “That means I don’t have to pay no rent. Six months of rent. That is a relief.”
