Rep. Stansbury Pushes for $144 Million for 20 Community Projects Across New Mexico
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Today, Congresswoman Melanie Stansbury (NM-01) announced her FY 2027 Community Project Funding Requests—totaling more than $144 million across 20 Projects to support critical investments across New Mexico’s 1st Congressional District.
These projects will help tackle some of New Mexico’s biggest challenges by investing in public safety and emergency services, expanding access to housing, behavioral health and addiction services, investing in critical water infrastructure, addressing statewide food and hunger needs, and investing in important cultural and community spaces. These funding requests reflect priorities identified by local communities, Tribal and local governments, nonprofits, and other partners working to address urgent needs on the ground across New Mexico.
“Every day we are working to deliver for New Mexico by investing in the critical programs our communities need,” said Rep Stansbury. “This year’s Community Project Funding requests include high-impact projects that will touch the lives of thousands of New Mexicans—by expanding access to food, water, and housing, public safety, healthcare, and addiction services, education and care for our kids, support for our veterans, and investments in community infrastructure. I am profoundly grateful for the work our partners are doing on the ground every day and proud to fight for these projects to ensure our communities have the resources they need to thrive.”
